30 Dec 2011

Got a chance to shoot some again today. This time I was alone and had plenty of time. I shot my Marlin 1894 Cowboy chambered for 44-40 and one revolver 44-40, Marlin 357 and revolver (smokeless) Targets at 25' and 50'.

First is the 25 yard Marlin 1895. Target is that silly ground hog. Three aiming spots, Heart, Stomach, left and right side targets.

YELLOW-heart- First two shots of the day. WRA balloon head brass, 40gr SWISS FF, Lyman 427098
GREEN-heart- Second shots of the day. R-P 35gr SWISS FF, Lyman 427098
Left Target - Third shots, R-P 35gr SWISS FF, NOE
Right Target- Forth shots, Mav Dutch, R-P 35gr SWISS FF
Stomach - Fifth shots, Win Pyro-P Mav Dutch 38gr

NO CLEANING BETWEEN SHOTS

Shots Fired - 2, 3, 2, 2, 3  It's all I had loaded at the time  :-[

Next is the 50 yard target, SAME ORDER
Orange and Pink where heart shots, left and right targets then stomach target. The Stomach shots is the 2" group to the left of target.

Next is the 25 yard target for the Marlin 1895 357. Smokeless so it really dont belong here BUT I AM SHOOTING THE SNAKEBITE BP BULLET with trailboss!!!!

First two shots orange site adjustment
Second group is yellow. Final adjustment
Last group green.

LAST TARGET IS REVOLVERS AT 50 FEET!
44 WCF and 38 Snakebites

In another post I was dumb and using a rest that craddled the barrel  ::) Well, this time I rested the frame.

ORANGE - First and second groups for sighting adjustments
PINK - no excuses!!!!!!
Aim point was the heart.

The shots circled in red pen is the 38 snakebites from my 4 3/4 revolver
Bottom shots first, then top shot.....then no more ammo!

AFTER ALL WAS SAID AND DONE I went over and shot the CAS targets with rifle and revolvers another 75 shots with no cleaning. Was the best fun I have had in a long time. The SASS match in in the morning but I have to go out of town again!!! No CAS shooing in two years  :(
