Can USFA do more to hold down its sales

With the announcement of the now correct copy of the Colt P series revolver for almost twice the price of a new Colt P from Colt what are they thinking?

Having made products that no one wants now they price themselves out of the market.

I must be missing something.

Nothing new there, Frank.  That "announcement" is a couple of years old.

Ordered a USFA today... dual 44-40 cylinder and 44 special cylinder.

I'll pay more for quality. That's why I didn't order a Colt.

Capt. John Fitzgerald

I'm with you there, Marshall.  Colt owners rant and rave about how much better the current production Colts are as compared to a few years ago, some even saying they are the equal to any 1st or 2nd generation gun.  That may be true but they still are not up to the quality of a USFA.  I own more than a few of both and still have more faith in the accuracy of an "out of the box" USFA than a Colt.
Just out of curiosity, did you order through a dealer or did you go directly through USFA?  What sort of estimate did you receive on a delivery time?

Capt, I ordered thur Ten Ring Precision Co..so there is not a real wait. He did tell me that  USFA is supplying orders to him very slow due to the recession. He just happened to have what I wanted so I didn't go thur USFA directly.

Gotta love the USFA's, yes ? Best quality firearm I've ever purchased,,,,,,,period.

I agree with all but I still believe that $2100 for a shooter is still not prudent. I have 4 USFA and half a dozen 1st thru 3rd Colts and my USFA 1902 Sears Colt is the best machined of all.

USFA still seems to be floundering in its attempt to center on a market.

Which model cost 2100 dollars ? I fear I don't see that revolver.

I guess they are trying to see how price elasticity works!

Its like taking a page from the Gov't playbook, want to slow sales down for whatever reason, just raise the price.

Turnbull has been offering a similar revolver for almost $500 less. But I see this morning they are all sold out. I believe that USFA quality is at the top or near the top but at a price that leaves them unsold. I am a bit biased towards USFA in one way, I am a collector more than a shooter and as such I view the USFA guns as more towards a art form.

Turnbull can advertise a price $500 less because he's a dealer.  USFA puts the "suggested price" on their website - you'll never pay that much.

Where might one find this much sought after resource? I'd like to get a nickeled double eagle but they're still not producing nickeled guns as far as I know.

Major 2

I cut and pasted it right off their website from the link given by Frankjg....
