Good day to all,
I am the proud owner of an 1860 civilian version of Ubertis Henry in 44-40. I shoot this weapon in the N-SSA but my question is besides 5 in 1 blanks what cartridge would i be able to use to make good blanks that will feed in my henry? I reload 44-40 so I have dies and a crimp die can be had from CH4 so that is not a problem. There can be no type of wadding or anything that will leave the barrel as a possible projectile so basically going to load about 35 grain of 3f and compress. If i just use 44-40 brass as i would for live fire they will be too short to cycle and modifying the weapon is not an option. Any thoughts you may be able to shed on this are welcome. Primary focus is the live fire. Blanks are used only a couple of times a year.
