Lyman sight on a Winchester 86
« on: May 18, 2010, 08:43:51 AM »
What is the earliest documented use of a receiver mounted peep sight (like the Lyman 66) on the Winchester 1886 rifle?

I'm having a hard time finding a reference with any definite date.

Check out the Model 21 Sight using Lyman's 1895 patent mfg. by Providence Too Company P.O. Box 291, Plymouth, WI  53073  Phone 920-893-9675  They are the folks making the Peabody rifles.  So, 1895 looks good!
