This was posted on the forum a few years ago, but since there are several folks that have joined this forum since then I thought it might be helpful to repost it.

A professional photographer who was based around Sturgis and Deadwood SD, sent the Library of Congress 187 photos he took between 1887 and 1892. The LOC has these photos online, and they are offered in very high resolution (ie- many MBs). The photos cover a pretty broad spectrum of the people and landscape of the area. When I came upon these pics I ended up spending an entire weekend savoring them.

Thanks pard, I reconize some of the pictures, but have never seen that whole collection, it's book marked now.
