Train People-Need Some Info
« on: November 29, 2009, 09:26:32 PM »

Need some info regarding this pin. My grandmother's second husband worked for the railroad. this I knew. He reportedly was killed by getting caught between couplers...

Thought some folks would enjoy these old pins. They are very very old. Wish I had more specific history, but mom and grams are both long gone.

Maybe some info on the other pins will help too. I do know one of them is "past President" of Business Pro. Womens Club..from 1950's. pin is 14K gold.

Thanks for any info and hope you enjoy the pix

That top one may be related to the gals that were on a train stop that the greatest generation troops stopped at.The ladies always had coffee cake pies cold drinks and would make them up food bags for thie tran trip to wherever thay were going.A support group of ladies and the men all looked forward to it big time.my aunt was one of the girls here in town that wrote letter to them and recieved such, pages and pages of stories, she had them for a long time.but just dissapeared,we have never been able to find out what she did with them. That's all i know and just from seeing a special on the tube about the train stop, but it was a big thing back then,it sure put the kabosh in the pump station man,i remember thinkin, sheesh look how happy them fellers are,but they ain't gonna be to happy when they get where thier goin.. :-\
