What keeps me broke!
« on: July 17, 2009, 02:07:03 PM »
Just finished the Remingtons this winter.  I really don't know why I need all of them, but it sure is fun.

Nice Richard's rings on the right end.

Nice long cylinder on the 1860 on the left.  Did you make your own cylinder?  What I heard you say in your text you did.  Was it difficult to do?

Black River:

Thanks for the compliments, yes, I made all the cylinders for the conversions.  Actually, making them was not as hard as you would think (providing you have a lathe and a mill).  The steps to make them are very simple and easy to do.  I sure had a lot of fun doing them.

P.P., you'll get a real big charge out the following. Read it all through as this guy does Ruger conversions. I am posting it here only as it demonstrates the eqpmt. & skill needed to make & fit a modern cylinder & barrel.

Are you talking to Pete, or to FCK?  If it's about the Rugers those aren't his, he directed you to a man who does.

The only details that I saw were of the Ruger cylinders being fabricated.  Did Pete share something with you I missed?

P.S. Pete, That is a quite a collection and quite a bit of work, congratulations.
