Did not see this variation for more than 25 years: 4 screw frame with fluted cylinder. Pistol is from the 1970s.

They are pretty, but a real bitch to time, as the bolt has to drop right into the notch's lead cut, no earlier.  If the bolt drops earlier, it has to climb the slope of the flute, a real hard job all transferred to the cocking effort.
