R & D Richards For Sale!
« on: September 08, 2008, 11:46:51 AM »
I have an older Richards conversion in 44 Colt. The complete conversion was done by Ken Howell, not just a conversion cylinder. Plain cylinder, not roll engraved. Has some wear and tear, I've carried it on several shows. It's had a lot of blanks fired through it, but never a live round. I can email pics. Must ship to FFL.
Thanks!

Pards this an early 3 digit serial # Kenny Howell Type I Richards.

David offered it to me..but I have another Richards on layaway, I agreed to buy.
I best not (though temped) buy David's , less I loose both my happy home and landing gear  :o

If'n' you want a Type I and can't wait 2 years ...here is your chance

Dave, is this a 0.429 "modern" .44 Colt or is it unlined, hence needs a .44 Colt heeled bullet?  ???

I had this posted on the SASS wire, but they removed it, I assume they thought it was a commercial posting. This is my personal gun, it has nothing to do with my business. I have pics of it on my website because it is easier for me to post them there. If I was looking for one of these, I couldn't buy one this cheap. I'll take $700, I've had something come up that I need some extra $$$ for.
Thank you!
David

I would say it was either a Uberti or Pietta. Ken had removed those markings.

He also used Armi San Marco. I had a 2nd Model Richards made by Kenny that was an ASM.

That true as did USPFA import some ..

ASM's owner was Aldo Uberti's Son in Law..
ASM got a bad rep...for guns they supplied to Discounters and some guns in that quality range got into the
offerings from Navy Arms & Cimarron etc.
But ASM was quite capable and did turn out some very nice pieces.
It's to bad , Traditions ,Sportmans Warehouse etal were demanding costs be kept low, and ASM was willing to cut corners to supply them at that level.

Glad for you Dave ...also glad I'm not being tempted anymore... ;)

FCK:
Since it is a Kenny Howell conversion, I will have to assume "yes".  Maybe David C. can tell us, as the check just went out to him and I do not have revolver in hand.
