I shot the Spencer for the first 5 stages, then switched to an 1866 38-40 for the last 5 stages the next day. I was expecting to place in the bottom three or so, but managed 16th out of 26.
Then I thought I'd try it in the long range match...
It took 19 shots to land one on the 400 yard plate.
After a few elevation adjustments, I was right there - "A foot left", "a little bit right", "just over the top", "just missed the left edge", "right below it"...
It would have been an easy 5/5 with my Sharps, but where's the fun in that?
