Well with a high of 39 it will most likely be cold miserable rain.  Rain and guns dont go too well together.   I am seriously thinking of not going myself at this point.  Cold and snow I can handle, but cold and rain is another story.
I have all my stuff out and ready to go so  I will probably decide in the morning.  TJ  I think you are showing wisdom in your decision.

Deadeye...

If that is the weather forecast, I may cancel too......video cameras, rain and snow don't mix either. I'll wait and see what the weatherman has to say tomorrow morning. Darn it!! >:( >:(

Fellows didn't mean to rain on your shoot. If I lived closer I would be there. But with the distance I would have to travel, I can't come very often and want it to be a good day. I've been checking the weather on AOL on line weather service. I do like the place that you all shoot. Want to make it sometimes before long. TJ  :'(

TJ,  No worries.  We also have a shoot coming up in 2 weeks in Martinsville and I am sure the weather will be more accomodating then.

Well, it's nearly 03:00.  The shoot starts in 7 hours.

I just got back from walking the dog.  It is drizzling with snow mixed in.  The thermometer out my back window says it's 33 F.  I'm still thinkin' 'bout going, but it looks bad for the home team.

Texas Jack, try to make it up here for the SMVS shoot Sat. the 26th, if possible.  Hopefully, our GLFMC family will be able to join in, too.  It hasn't been very conducive to shooting so far this "spring."  The March GLFMC shoot and the March SMVS shoots were both canceled due to rain and flooding.  Now this crappy weather might cause problems.  The GLFMC shoot hasn't actually been "canceled" as of this minute, but I'll bet there aren't gonna be many there - and April is MEMBERSHIP month.  :(  Mayhaps the weather will allow us at least one shoot before May.

I guess there IS some good.   ???  The farmers and the reservoirs will prob'ly have plenty of water this year, but I'll bet the farmers are worried 'bout gettin' their crops planted due to the muddy/rainy conditions.  :'(

GW, I am about 4 1/2 hours south there's a cold misty rain falling, windy and it's 37. I will make it one of these days, but right now I don't want to even go out and feed my dogs. Just call me Texas Jack Weenie. Sure hope you all can hold the shoot though. It's it's too bad to shoot, have a good visit. Your Kentucky pard. TJ  (Texas Jack Weenie)  :'(

Y'all are lucky.
The Blue River Regulators don't look out the window to see whether the weather is going to dampen our spirits. We just send someone to measure the depth of the standing water on the range. Anything over 1/2" we cancel.
Our first shoot of the season cancelled today.

Bet we're the only club that has 'Dredger' on their want list.

Don't fret that 'weenie' moniker. If you're a weenie fer not wantin' to stand around in 30 degree wet weather tryin' ta figger out whether this is fun or not, well. . . .you just crawl back into that warm bun and wait for the relish.

Well, GW , Irish Dave and Mr. Alex.

I'm a bit ashamed to say, but I weenied out, I guess.  I really had all intentions of going, cold or not, but the rain with snow mix PLUS  the problems I had with the pup (why I was out and just returning with him when I posted the first time, then again at 4:30-5:45) I just got exhausted and went to sleep.  Of COURSE: when I finally wake at about the time I should be half way to the range, I find that it had STOPPED raining and MAY have been OK.   Cold is OK.  Snow is OK - to me; snow is actually relatively dry.  But when it's cold AND raining - well, it kinda takes the wind right out of my sails.  (A nautical reference JUST for River City John.  ;) )

Joss,

Be VERY glad that you are far away! ;) :o  When I drove home this morning at 3:00 am it was snowing here.  Nearly 3 days of cold rain, mist, hail, snow and gust winds.  Talk like yers could get a fellow lynched around here! ;D :D ;D

Well pards, the real cowboys  ;D of GLFMC didn't let the weather stop 'em today and we had a dandy shoot nonetheless.

The coffee was good and hot, the fire warm , the conversation satisfying and the shooting great fun.

True, it was overcast and ranged between 36-42 degress with nary but a brief misting now and then, but we had enough pards nonetheless for one large posse and the shooting was first class. We did abbreviate the day from our normal 6 stages to 4. But that included coffee breaks (2 large pots brewing all day) and BS between nearly every stage and lots of chatter about NCOWS, posses, guns, cartridges and the like.

Those of you timid souls whose delicate constitutions kept you home missed a dern good time.  ;)

The Old West wasn't sunny and 70 all the time....

It WAS more fun than what I was doing when I "weenied" out.   My trigger finger STILL itches.  But I plead extenuating circumstances.

Dang it, anyway.
