What handgun powder do you use most for CAS? Does anyone have the 'empty casing' issues that Trail Boss purports to illeviate?

When I load light smokeless (please forgive me), I use Bullseye or Unique. No problemo with either.   For me, there's nothing broke so I don't see a need for a fixin with yet another powder for the shelf.  ;)
The bulk of my reloading is with Goex.  ;D

It's black powder or nothing for me.
No heathen smokless powders.  They are just a passing fad anyway.

Bullseye.  Cheap, use less and works great, very accurate.

I've used quite a few, but for the last few years, I use a lot of 700X.  In my short cases the fast burning stuff works good.  I had it on hand for shotgun, tried it, and liked it.  I expect Bullseye would be fine also.

I still BUY more 777, but 700X goes a long way and in the 4 lb jug is pretty thrifty.

Howdy

For Smokeless, you did not list my favorite, Unique. I use it mostly because of the volume issue. Unique bulks up more than most other Smokeless powders.

Other than Unique, I usually use Black Powder for all my CAS loading, Schuetzen is my favorite right now.

For CAS Goex. The BOOM, fire, smoke ‘n stink makes the game more fun.  The rust and cleaning issues are a myth.

My Glocks get TiteGroup. I had a good 9mm load using Unique but it was compressed. I’m not comfortable with a compressed smokeless load. The TiteGroup burns cleaner anyway. TiteGroup does well in mine and my son in law’s G23.

I was partial to Unique 3 years ago....

But brothers and sisters I then saw the Darkness and it was grand!!

I use APP when I want a sub, I use Goex and Schuetzen when I want traditional BP.

I second the cleaning myth issues.  Honestly I spend no more time cleaning my handguns and rifle and I have probably cut my cleaning time in half with shotgun since switching powders.

All Hail the one true powder!!!  Make mine smokey:)

I use Titegroup because it is ecomomical [ I never load to the max. or the min. in my .45s]

I am also very partial to GOEX 2F but will use 3F in a pinch.

I would like to see this again, with Holy Black as a choice.  Then we would know if all those people picking "other" are using some other smokeless, or black.

Around my neck of the woods it is probably Vitahouri. Those guys shooting that stuff never clean their guns. I voted other.

Around my place though it is Goex, but in my heathen days I shot 231 powder.

I usually use Titegroup because it is cheaper than most.  I went through and used up most of the pistol powder that's been hanging around on the shelf for the past 30+ years.  This included Dupont PD, bullseye and some others.  They all worked fine for CAS shooting, meaning they went bang and hit near point of aim.  Didn't find any difference it how dirty they were.  I shoot 45 Colt with mild to mid loads and 250 gr bullets.

I use a compressed load of GOEX 2f Black.  My carry gun is my 5.5 inch SAA (.45 Colt) and use the same loads in it.
