RUBE BURROWS, Alabama Train Robber Book........
« on: May 02, 2008, 10:14:15 PM »
I was wondering if anyone has read the book that the local Vernon, Alabama newspaper puts out on Rube Burrows? He was an Alabama train robber in the late 1800s. My grandmaw owns his land now in Lamar Co, Alabama and I grew up hearing the stories of him around town and the rumored gold on the land. (none found though). We used to play in the caves on the property as kids playing like we were gun slingers.

If this book would interest anyone I have an extra copy that I would be willing to mail to someone for the price of shipping.

The books were 10.00 each at the time.

Its 114 pages with lots of pics.

This is the only book that I know of on Rube Burrows. He does havea pic and a short word in the book                   "The taming of the west AGE OF THE GUNFIGHTER" page 73.
