Holy Tamoley, Sgt. John! I sure didn't believe it, and was laughing my youkknowwhat off, until I saw the pic of the deer. Now I am not so sure.

That's great!

Hey CJ -- wanna go deer hunting?  ;D

Somehow, if he really did get a deer with a cannon, that makes it even funnier.

Lou, our minds are on the same track. As soon as I saw it I thought:

I'll stick with my bow, but I know some folks that could use the cannon for their deer hunting... ;D

Believe it! I have met this guy. I was told the "hunting" happened within 5 miles from my house.  ;D Also, he did make the complete cannon.

Sgt. John,
How did you find this?

I love the smell of Black Powder in the morning!

There's a lady over at TFS made herself a cannon.

It would be a blast if the two got together and had a shoot off..

Well now I always thought that might be fun, but after looking at the pics it's just too much wasted meat for my taste.  Now if you could hit it in the chest with a single round ball???

Micheal Fortune,.....the deer shouldn't be too bad the way it looks,........shouldn't bee any worse than slugs........

Silver Creek Slim,..........A friend I work with has bought a full size barrel for one of these and was looking for a "How To" to make the carrage..........and low and behold there it was............

Well in these parts, one well placed bullet in the chest cavity or neck and you don't waste any meat at all.  Don't hunt deer with slugs around here either. :o

Micheal  slugs shock a lot lsee meat than a high power Granted they leave a bigger hole,........but there is probibly less meat shoched on this little 3x3 than if you shot it with a High Power..............Does look bad though.............
I agree though one well placed shot from "THOR" will take down a monster..........

"THOR" is my 300 WM,...... he weighs 14 Lbs,........ shoots a 168gn BTHP Match 3200FPS,.....and sounds like Thunder when it goes off.......and SLAMS Steel or a Deer at what ever range you feel comfortable shooting at

My 375 Winchester and cast bullets ya can almost stand ta eat the bullet hole.  With my 243 even with the Barnes X bullet ya don't want ta shoot one in the good parts.  Unless a course ya like blood sausage.  Won't reach as far as the Sarge's gun, but very accurate, you can shoot one just under the ear at 200, saves meat and ya don't have to track them at all. ;D
