I finally got a Remington Revolving Carbine today, so I had to take a family picture!

Clockwise from the top they are: Uberti Remington Revolving Carbine, genuine Remington New Model Army (re-blued, but completely numbers matching and martially marked), antiqued/browned Pietta 8" barrel, Pietta 8" with ported Kirst Konverter in .45LC/.45ACP w/extractor, Pietta 5 1/2" w/ R&D Conversion in .45LC.

I got the gate done. Here are a couple photos of it, but they were taken indoors the other evening. I will post better pictures when I can take some. LOL, I'm getting tired of the same old blue carpet, so I'll try to be more creative. Now I shoot one with an R&D drop-in and one with the Kirst gated conversion, both in .38. This pistol is the same one shown in my post above.

Marshall,......nice porting job you done there  8)
That 2nd pic, the closeup of gate, is nice but would be good if lightened some so as to make
details of the contour of gate against the cylinder,......that gated Kirst is interesting.
thanks for posting those pics :)

Looks terrific Marshal- like a factory-made job!

Question:  What did you us to blue your cut-out?   It looks great and has great coverage!

Just wondering,
John

The pictures were taken at night with a flash. they've already been lightened as much as I could. Any more and everything greys out. I'll be able to post better photos as soon as I get a chance to take them in daylight.

The bluing is Birchwood Casey Super Blue, the one in the 3 oz bottle, not the touch-up pen or paste. http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=4942&title=METAL+FINISHING+PRODUCTS I cleaned the area with lighter fluid first then put it on with a Q-Tip, rubbing it with a soft cotton rag afterward. A couple coats and it's done. Great stuff. If you get it on the areas that are already blued, it will make a noticable color change so be sure to rub it immediately after putting it on. It works fast.

Here'a a better photo of my Ubertis. The top one has an R&D drop-in cylinder in it and the bottom one has the Kirst gated conversion. Both are .38 spl.

Real nice, Marshall! Good  porting job for that Kirst.   I'll bet those are real sweet shooters,....think I remember your sayin you had the barrels lined to .357,..... at least on one of 'em.

Marshal Will Wingam

You remember right, Oldem. They've both been sleeved. Kenny Howell at R&D did the work. Great job at reasonable rates. They're both tack-nailers.
