Recently a fellow shooter sent me a video on Holster Making. Although it is for Pancake Holster and not a Cowboy Holster, I found it to be interesting and informative.

Here is a link to the Video:
Many of the techniques shown can be applied to Western Style Cowboy Holsters.

You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

That's a really good video. I like some of his techniques. I may have to try his method of hand cutting with an Exacto knife with a carpet underneath. He says, "It is important to keep the finger away from where the knife is coming through though I do keep a good supply of Bandaids in the shop." I have them on hand for when I use a round knife. ;D

Thanks for posting the link. I'm sure many will get some good tips from it.

**I added a link to this thread in our FAQ/HOW TO thread so we can find it easily in the future.

I tested his method of cutting out his pieces with an Exacto knife yesterday. I used another knife handle with an Exacto blade in it but but was the same thing. I actually cut a guitar pattern from triple layer overseas shipping cardboard but the process was the same as cutting leather. This method is accurate, I was able to split the pencil line down the center most of the way. I'm a total convert. I will always use this method for cutting out leather pieces (or cardboard patterns).

Thanks for posting that video link, John.
