Hoof Hearted

I have thought about doing this for a while.
Over on "The High Road" there are OFFICIAL threads for the different models so I am going to do the same thing here.
Many of us like to show off our pistols and this will give us a place to do so w/o "hijacking" our pards threads ;)

Rules are simple with "no axe grinding" taking precedence, followed by "stick to the topic" (no other models posted, please), then if you are seeking gunsmith advice, or reloading opinions, or grip refinishing, antiquing advice or whatever, please search for like posts and/or start one of your own.........

Thanks, HH

I dearly want a Colt Second Model Dragoon.  I can buy Ubertis all day long, but I am holding out or a Colt Second gen, Second model.  Of course, I recently found one for a not-too-bad price....but a month before Christmas?  Really?   :-\  I doubt I would survive that purchase......

Mossyrock,

Survival would seem to be base on the 'no-too-bad-a- price' whether that is your estimation or your spouses ... still, I have seen men say to their wife that 'all I Want for Christmas' if is the dragoon and make it work .... Good luck either way!

TTFN,
My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...

TTFN,
Worked for me two years ago!
I was on gunbroker and the wife asked, "what do you want for Xmas?". I was looking at an engraved SS Vaquero and I said, "I want this!". She made me wrap it when it got here and I had to wait until Xmas day.........but it was worth it!

Six Gun Saint

I don't have any Walkers, but I'd like to state that it is, beyond the shadow of any doubt, my absolute favorite firearm what has ever been made.

Ain't none feels better in my hand-even if it IS 4.5 lbs.!

I thought about getting a couple (with a cartridge conversion) for my main match guns, but the thought of trying to shoot dualist/double dualist  with my shoulders...  Not appealing.  Still, I'll be adding some to my collection eventually!

To everyone what's posted pictures, I am quite jealous of your beautiful beautiful hardware!

How easy is it to fit a loading gate to a Kirst's convertion breach plate. The one I have does not have one fitted. frame has been cut so cylinder can be loader while in the gun.
I have not picked the gun up yet, it is a Uberti Dragoon in 45 Colt. I have the percusion cylinder as well but will sell it on as I dont intend to use it.

Happy Holidays.

While "anything" can be done, that would not be a worthwhile chore ;)
Post up a pic or two for us to see, OK?

Kirst's retail on the ring with gate is $227.00 and they charge $15.00 to ship :-\

StrawHat

Okay, here is my Walker.  An early, 1965, built by ASM.  Originally, I had planned to install a new 9"tube in the lug but the more I handled it, the more I like it.

It is still not a concealed carry piece or even a fast draw revolver, as it weigh just over 4 pounds.

Hope you like it, I do.
