I looked at it, but something doesn't ring true with it.
Can't put my finger on it for sure, but I think the engraving is later than period and it has been buffed recently.

However, if i had the bucks I might bid on it, but I don't, so I won't.

Your not the only one who thinks it over buffed... and though the engraving is tasteful, I don't think it is true to the real age of the piece...
just to sharp compared to the condition of the Cyl. star & general beat appearance of the cylinder...

also I might be wrong but the Grip escutcheon is round not winged, may be correct for replacement bone grips though.. :-\

Well, I don't feel crazy now. The same two things hit me also. I posted the pic to solicit reactions.

Still a nice gun though.
