There will be a charter meeting of Hiram's  Rangers at the NCOWS National Convention, Feb 17 in Council Bluffs IA. Hiram's Rangers will not be a travelling Masonic Lodge, but  a strictly social, fraternal organization of  Masonic western action shooters, like; The Beaver Lodge of Fur trade reenactors, or the Widow's Sons of Masonic cycle riders. Prospective members will need to give the "pass and token of the pass" of a Master Mason and produce a card that shows you are a current member of a Blue Lodge. There will be a suggested annual donation of $5 for record keeping and mailings. There will be an identification badge available at cost, with your #, Available for Master  Masons and Past Masters. Badges will be purely optional.

Will there be any provisions made for those of us that are in far and distant places to join?  I don't imagine that I'm going to make it from here in CA but I can send a copy of my current Blur Lodge dues card and a donation for record keeping, mailings, etc.

If this hasn't been addressed yet, you might give some thought.

This could turn out to quite a sizable group within NCOWS.

Fraternally yours,

Rich Heller

What a great Idea.  Wish I were able to come.  My very best.  Freemasonry and Shooters.  Great mix.

JT, when and where is the NCOWS convention in February?  I will be in Costa Rica sometime in Feb.  I might try and make it if I can.

Like the ideal, I will not be able to attend from Velasco Lodge 757 A.F. & A.M., I am an endowed member and would like to see what your badge will look like. I do wear a Masonic shooters pin. I hope you have a very good turn out

Guess I'm showing my age here!  Trap is off hunting pheasants, prairie chicken and quail.  We don't see much of him during bird season! ::) ::)  I imagine that he will post a picture when he gets the prototype.  I believe that they will be availabe for individuals to order directly.

This weekend will be the first induction ceremony of Hiram's Rangers. Therefore there will be a full compliment of officers at the charter meeting in Feb at the NCOWS National convention. I think the time for that is set for Sat at 2 PM. I would like to get an idea of how many we will have, so if you are going to be there and want to be a HR or know someone who will, please post here or PM me. Also if you live too far away but are interested let me know and I will try to find a way to get you inducted.                          jt
