I need to stretch the straps for my spurs by about one or maybe two buckle holes.  Anyone have any information on how to do this without ruining the leather?  I've read about just wetting and then nailing the leather to a board but was wondering what the folks who have been doing this for awhile might say.

Thanks

I've found you can get about 2 inches by stretching a full belt that way. After it dries, just treat it as though it was that length to start. The times I've done that, I put a nail in each of the holes in the billet end. The buckle can just drop over one, or two if the buckle is square, as long as the buckle is held straight. I don't know how much you will be able to get with a spur strap.

I split this off to its own topic since it is a good question on its own.

Thanks for the help.  I'll give it try and report back what happens.
